Dangerous Buildings

At the June 2, 2025 meeting of the Portageville Board of Aldermen, the Municipal Code pertaining to Dangerous Buildings was reviewed. Please be advised that any nuisance that is not abated upon receipt of notice will result in the property being brought before the Building Commission. Any property found in violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in accordance with Section 100.220 of the Portageville Municipal Code. Each day a person fails to comply with an order of the Building Commission may be deemed a separate offense. For more information pertaining to Dangerous Buildings, please click the link above.
Weed, Debris and Vegetation

Please be advised that any nuisance that is not abated upon receipt of notice can result in the property owner being summonsed to Portageville Municipal Court. Golf Cart, ATV & UTV Rules and Regulations

It has been brought to our attention that there are several citizens in the City of Portageville that are violating the rules and regulations of operating recreational off-highway vehicles such as a golf cart, UTV or ATV on public streets within the city limits of Portageville. As a reminder, it is necessary to obtain a permit to be allowed to drive these on a public street. This permit is for city streets only and does not authorize you to drive on state roadways such as State Highway 61 or State Highway 162.
Primacy Fee and Missouri Connection Fee on June Utility Bills

We have received several calls about the Primacy Fee and Missouri Connection Fee that is on the June utility bill. Please be advised that these fees are placed on all utility bills every year during the month of June and collected for the State of Missouri. Collections are then sent to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
Trash Service Rules and Regulations

It has been brought to our attention that there are a number of citizens that have chosen not to adhere to the rules and regulations that come with having trash service in Portageville. We would like to remind you of a few key items that must be followed. Public Notice: Polling Place Change for Ward 2 Voters

Public Notice: The Polling Place for Ward 2 voters has changed and will be effective for the next Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Portage-2 voters will no longer cast their ballots at the Rogers Red Building in Meatte Park. All voting for the City of Portageville will be held at the Community Center located at 105 E. Main Street, Portageville.
Republic Services Awarded Trash Collection in Portageville

Public Notice: On February 10, 2025, the Board of Aldermen of the City of Portageville voted to terminate the Memorandum of Understanding dated September 6, 2022, between Sharp Disposal, LLC and the City of Portageville. The termination of the agreement is for cause based on Sharp Disposal LLC’s failure to fulfil its obligations set forth in the Memorandum of Understanding. The effective date of the termination is April 1, 2025.
